Charles HoskinsonCreator Cardano and one of the founders Ethereumrecently engaged in a verbal spat with Ethereum developers over the implementation of Ethereum Merge proof of stake (PoS) consensus on twitter.
Evan Van Nessinvestor Web3was a view that didn’t get much support on Sunday when he said that Merging Ethereum could have been introduced earlier. In response to Van Ness’s statements, the Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin said he agreed with them and that they should have developed an on-chain PoS consensus similar to PoS NXT.
Hoskinson replied in the conversation:
Snow White, a protocol that Hoskinson has been promoting for years, is one of the first protocols to provide end-to-end, formal proof of the security of a PoS system. This makes it one of the most secure protocols currently available.
However, Hoskinson’s remark unleashed a swarm of worms, eventually leading to a violent altercation between Cardano’s inventor and Van Ness and other engineers working on ETH.
Hoskinson said that his thoughts from 2014 about technical improvements to the Ethereum network are still more valid than what the Ethereum network has been updated since the merger.
Van Ness was quick to remind Hoskinson that he was fired from his position at Ethereum within his first six months on the job due to his terrible behavior and his inability to contribute significantly on a technical level.
