When the album is released on the 26th August, it retails for £20 (about $25) and has 1,000 copies available.

Fans will receive a downloadable version of the album as well as FLAC files. In addition, each purchase includes a different album art, digitally signed by the group. Buyers are also entered in the buyer list.

Serenade has joined forces with Warner Records UK to create “the world’s first Digital Pressings”. In a nutshell, Digital Pressing is a single chart-eligible digital release. This type of technology is designed to meet the needs of superfans who want access to exclusive content and community recognition.

This new technology, because it is created on the blockchain and offers Web 3 services, allows owners to trade it on the secondary market and provides verifiable ownership.

Digital Pressing releases allow albums to see the light of day much faster. Generally, producing a CD or vinyl version of albums requires overhead costs and about six to nine months. However, using this technique there is no additional cost and the album takes less than two weeks to produce in this format.

The UK’s Official Charts Company and Australia’s ARIA have agreed to make Digital Pressing “the chart-eligible music format after album streaming in 2015”.

Martin Talbot, CEO of the official mapping company, shared his excitement:

…we welcome Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) – and we’re delighted to see the first NFT-delivered album chart, led by Serenade and Muse this summer. NFTs are an exciting new format whose potential is just beginning to be explored, and I’m sure they will feature on official lists for years to come.

In other news, the music industry is too takes his first steps to transfer live performances to the metaverse.
