A valuable addition
Recently, Blockchain Australia announced that Laura Mercurio will take over as CEO from Monday (September 12). He has high hopes for his ability to interact with local regulators and authorities, as his organization notes that the country’s leaders are moving to implement a regulatory framework for the digital asset industry.
After years of working in major finance, technology and consulting companies, Mercurio has joined Blockchain Australia. In addition, he first worked at Citigroup from 2001 to 2005. He was then promoted to Global Chief Operating Officer at BlackRock.
“I am extremely excited to take on the role of CEO of Blockchain Australia, to be a leading voice in this maturing industry and to drive innovation and change in the blockchain industry for Australian businesses. With the rapid adoption of blockchain and crypto-resources, this technology has the potential to fundamentally change the way the industry solves everyday problems. I look forward to the innovation ecosystem promoting and working closely with members, industry, governments and regulatory bodies to deliver digital solutions.
Mercurio, board chairman Adam Poulton, “brings unique passion, energy and enthusiasm” and is a perfect fit for the organization.
