About 65,000 Omani residents own crypto, and most of them are either high school or college graduates, a new study by Souq Analyst found. According to the results of the survey, the overwhelming majority (90%) of Omani crypto holders are between the ages of 18 and 44.
Crypto awareness in Oman
According to a new study by Souq Analyst, around 65,000 Omani residents, or 1.9% of the country’s adult population, own cryptocurrencies. Despite the seemingly low ratio of crypto holders to the population, the findings suggest that crypto awareness in Oman is significantly high. The report explains:
An impressive 97.9% of Omani adults have heard of cryptocurrencies, indicating growing awareness.
The survey also showed that the overwhelming majority (90%) of cryptocurrency owners in Oman are between the ages of 18 and 44.
Oman’s highly educated crypto holders
Additionally, in a survey of more than 200 people, Souq Analyst found that around 66% of crypto holders in Oman have a bachelor’s degree or higher. In addition, the survey revealed that approximately 25% of the respondents had graduated from high school.
Regarding the composition of crypto assets, the survey results show that more than 55 percent of Omani crypto owners own bitcoins. The findings also suggest that just under 50% of respondents own ETH, while around 25% have stablecoins.
In terms of crypto asset value, more than 12% of respondents reported that their portfolio value exceeded $25,900 or 10,000 Omani Rials. However, a higher proportion of respondents (more than 35%) own cryptocurrencies with a US dollar value of less than $259.
Meanwhile, in remarks posted on the Laraontheblock blog, Souq Analyst founder Mohammed Al-Tamami praised the research findings, which are “generally useful for everyone.”
