Decentralized activist group Nameless has released a brand new video detailing their investigation – which began on August 14th – into the use of esoteric imagery in the Bored Ape Yacht Membership (BAYC) NFT selection.
In their latest video, the group admitted that “beyond a shadow of a doubt” each BAYC and Yuga Labs are complicit in the deliberate branding of brands with esoteric symbolism associated with Nazism and various excessive ideologies.
“At this time, we would like to announce that Anonymous is confident that the Bored Ape Yacht membership and Yuga Labs model has been contaminated with not one or two, but dozens of examples of esoteric symbolism and dog. whistles reflecting Nazism, racism, simulation and pedophilia will help.”
An anonymous consultant advised CryptoSlate:
“The accusations that the BAYC range has been dealing with since last December are much more vicious than whatever the scam of the week is, that week is in the NFT area.”
The group must take the charges lightly and demand further investigation and amnesty as the group gains access to Yuga Labs with the accused “hidden perspective”.
Yuga Labs denies the allegations
On the 24th of June Yuga Labs filed by conceptual artist Ryder Ripps, Jeremy Cahen and “Does 1-10”. The claims involve false attribution, false advertising, cybersquatting and trademark infringement.
Ripps created RR/BAYC weeks earlier than the lawsuit alleges. It offers an identical image to the unique BAYC range. He has argued throughout that the RR/BAYC range is about pushing the boundaries of digital photography as it relates to intellectual property and more meaningfully to digital assets, and the way these boundaries intersect with emerging non-fungible markets.
“My most recent NFT work has focused on provocations and inquiries related to the nature, origin and digital possession of NFT. The source has always been a decisive aspect in determining the method and value of the painting.”
Ripps has since fired back, saying the lawsuit is an attempt to silence his claims that BAYC is affiliated with Nazism. For example, the similarity of the BAYC brand to the symbol of the Totenkopfy, an elite division of the Waffen-SS.
so you tell me a fully tattooed hindu jew who only eats cheeseburgers and named his company “yuga labs” after the “kali yuga”, the period neo-nazi richard spenser has mentioned for seven years, and the company’s brand appears. like a nazi emblem… simply by chance? LOL.. pic.twitter.com/ySBlaqAg0c

In a post on Medium, Gordon Goner, AKA Yuga Labs founder Greg Solano, vehemently denied the allegations as a “loopy disinformation marketing campaign,” which is puzzling considering the group is made up of “Jewish, Turkish, Pakistani, and Cuban friends.” “
in response to the ban, Nameless told CryptoSlate:
“There is a phenomenon called ‘multiracial white supremacy,’ if one looks at the place to understand how it can be achieved.
It is essential to know that the accusations seen on twitter regarding the BAYC selection seem to go beyond a basic sense of exasperation rather than simple “racism”.
CrytoSlate asked Nameless what the purpose of the tip was and why the group does not intend to engage in “hacktivism”, to which the group replied:
“Dialogue is essential here. Everyone has a threshold for how many coincidences are “too many” coincidences earlier than one thing appears to be intentional. “
Nameless vowed to investigate
Nameless has spent the previous weeks investigating the allegations and came to the conclusion that the claims could not be considered a conspiracy idea. To further address the issue, they are looking to address the following:
- Owners: to ask why so few have come forward to investigate the allegations. Finally, the group acknowledged that they could focus on bringing awareness to the claims, particularly in “untapped markets,” to alert new NFT collectors.
- Merchants/endorsers/collaborators: Nameless named several events along with Andreessen Horowitz, Mark Cuban, Tom Brady, Neymar Junior, Kevin Hart, Adidas, Coinbase, and Tiffany and Co. to request an official response to the allegations.
- Yuga Labs: Despite Goner’s Medium post and various public denials, Nameless wants to know why Yuga Labs has been unable to provide legibility or take steps to “remove” these associations from the model.
“Did you think you could submerge these sick ideas just because you value esotericism and edginess above the rest of the world?”
With this survey, Nameless challenged the founders of BAYC Greg Solano and Wiley Aronow for a sit-in with a “consultant of our choice” to discuss the ideas of Esotericism and Accelerationism.
The group confirmed that it plans to take the move only by distancing itself from the issue compared to hacktivism.
